The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine has developed the National Pollutant Release and Transfer Register in the form of a web map, with the help of which one can get information on 4,000 Ukrainian enterprises, whose activities are related to hazardous emissions.
The web map is available on the ministry’s online platform EcoSystem.
“EcoSystem is a national platform where all administrative eco-services for business and all environmental information for citizens are collected. It is constantly updated with new services and data sets. Today we have finally presented an important component of the web portal: a convenient map of Ukraine, on which there are all 4,000 of polluting enterprises, information about which is contained in the Register,” the press service quoted Deputy Minister of Environment Ruslan Strelets as saying.
According to him, this is a historic event in the field of digital transformation of the environment.
The ministry notes that with the help of a web map it is possible to find out which enterprises are responsible for water or atmospheric air pollution in a particular region, when the State Environmental Inspectorate last checked the activities of an enterprise, what volume of emissions they generate annually in the context of atmospheric pollution of air and water.
