Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs and Political Director of the European External Action Service Jean-Christophe Belliard has visited eastern Ukraine, in particular, Avdiyivka (Donetsk region).
During his visit to Ukraine Belliard travelled to Avdiyivka and familiarized himself with a complicated security and humanitarian situation in the region. Belliard has condemned escalation of violence and increasing pressure on the OSCE SMM, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry press service said.
The EU envoy has also reaffirmed Brussels’ unaltered stance to keep the sanctions against Russia in place, until the Minsk Agreements are fully implemented.
