You're reading: EU leaders again call on all countries to cooperate with investigators in MH17 case

The leaders of the European Union again called on all countries to fully cooperate with the investigation to investigate the crash of МН17 flight of Malaysian airlines, which was shot down in the sky over Donetsk Oblast on July 17, 2014.

It was stated in the conclusions of the European Council, which were adopted in Brussels on Friday following the EU summit at the level of heads of state and government.

“With reference to the conclusions of 20 June 2019, the European Council reiterates its full support for all efforts to establish truth, justice and accountability for the victims of the downing of MH17 and their next of kin and calls on all States to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation in accordance with UNSC Resolution 2166,” it says.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 traveling from Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was downed over Donbas on July 17, 2014. None of the 298 people on board survived the crash.

The investigation into the crash is being handled by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) comprised of representatives of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and Malaysia.
