BRUSSELS – The European Union will give its assessment on the law on the anti-corruption court adopted on June 7 by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, only after a full and comprehensive study of the legislation is complete, an EU spokesperson in Brussels has told the Kyiv Post.
The Rada approved at second reading and as a whole the bill submitted by the president (No. 7440) on the High Anti-Corruption Court. A total of 315 MPs voted to approve the bill at a plenary session of parliament.
“We take note of the adoption of the law. We’re awaiting the final text of the law to study it, and are in consultation with other international partners that are involved in the assessment of the bill. We will base our assessment on these elements when available,” the EU spokesperson said.
