European Commission hopes Donbas prisoner swap leads to Minsk deal’s implementation

European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Commissioner Johannes Hahn said he hoped that the prisoner swap conducted in Donbas on Dec.27 will lead to a complete ceasefire and implementation of the Minsk Agreements.

“Eastern Ukraine: Very much welcome this humanitarian gesture which reunites families and constitutes an important trust building measure. Hope that this action will lead to complete cease-fire and full implementation of Minsk Agreements!” Hahn said on Twitter on Dec.28.
