Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office has announced a suspicion to the former board chairman of PJSC Bank National Credit, the press service of the prosecutor’s office has reported.

“On September 20 Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office announced a suspicion to the former board chairman of PJSC Bank National Credit regarding large-scale embezzlement of funds,” reads a statement posted on the prosecutor’s office’s website on September 20.

The statement notes that it was established during the pre-trial investigation conducted by the investigation department of the National Police’s main office in Kyiv with the support of the economy protection department in Kyiv that the person, conspiring with other bank officials, embezzled the bank’s funds worth about Hr 4 million.

The prosecutor’s office said that such actions were qualified under Part 5, Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (large-scale appropriation by an official of someone else’s property through abuse of office, committed in a preliminary agreement with a group of individuals).

The issue of selecting a measure of restraint against the suspect is being resolved.

The pretrial investigation continues.
