You're reading: Ex-member of Swedish finance ministry appointed IMF resident representative in Ukraine

The International Monetary Fund has replaced IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Jerome Vacher, who has held the post for four years, with ex-member of the Swedish Finance Ministry Gösta Ljungman.

Ljungman who will replace Vacher, a citizen of France, as part of regular rotation will take up his duties on July 3, 2017, according to the IMF.

Vacher will return to the IMF’s headquarters.

Ljungman, a citizen of Sweden, has a degree in Economics from Uppsala University. He joined the IMF in 2007, previously held a position in the Ministry of Finance of Sweden.

Working in the fiscal department of the IMF and the Department of the Middle East and Central Asia, Ljungman received significant experience working with Eastern European and transition economies, the IMF said.
