Agents of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have detained former Member of Parliament Dmytro Kriuchkov, who is suspected of embezzling funds of a government-controlled regional power distribution company, at Kyiv’s Boryspil Airport after he arrived from Germany as part of extradition.

Kriuchkov who is suspected of causing damage to the state estimated at over Hr 346 million was extradited from Germany to Ukraine on April 15, NABU said on Facebook.

“NABU agents have detained the official at Boryspil Airport. The court must choose a preventive measure for him within 48 hours from the moment of his detention,” it said.
