President of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU), Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP and Head of the Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee Andriy Pavelko believes that the broadcasting of matches of the 2018 World Cup in Russia on Ukrainian television is inexpedient because of possible propaganda of the aggressor country.

“As a fan, I understand that everyone wants to see the best teams of the world, but realizing what kind of propaganda could be committed by the aggressor country, I’m against it,” he said at a meeting with journalists on Wednesday.

In his opinion, such a parliament decision should be taken at least from the moral point of view.

“We must have certain moral restrictions. Moreover, the law on the aggressor country was adopted in parliament,” he said.

Pavelko noted that he intends to watch World Cup matches on Italian or English TV to be up on what is happening in the world of football.
