The updated law on the national budget of Ukraine for 2020 provides for direct support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko has said.
“In this budget, we foresaw resources from international financial organizations, including direct budget support from the IMF. The support of our international partners is very important because it gives us the opportunity to fully finance all the necessary expenses, primarily doctors wages, social protection, expenses for infrastructure,” the minister said.
Marchenko also stressed that he expects a positive vote from the parliament for the so-called “banking” bill, which will accelerate the receipt of IMF assistance.
