Ukraine’s Finance Ministry intends to finance programs to treat patients with cancer, HIV/AIDS and people with other serious diseases by 100%, the ministry said on its website on Wednesday.
“The Finance Ministry proposes to finance these programs by 100% for the first time in 25 years,” the ministry said.
The ministry said that Ukraine has over one million of people with cancer, thousands of people with HIV/AIDS and other fatal illnesses. The state can provide these people with life-saving medicines only by 50%.
“Even these people did not receive free-of-charge medicines, as historically medicine procurement and distribution was non-transparent with large corruption risks.
