In the Exclusion Zone of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, three new outbreaks appeared due to the heavy wind, but they are not large-scale and do not pose a threat to critical facilities.
“Firefighters continue watering separate areas where smoldering of stumps, wood debris, fallen dry trees, as well as peat bogs are observed. However, as a result of heavy gusts of wind in the afternoon there was a complication of the situation. Three new outbreaks of smoldering appeared, which are not large-scale and not threatening,” the press service of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine told Interfax-Ukraine.
The State Emergency Service emphasized that there are no threats to critical objects, such as “Shelter,” and “Vector.”
