The first case of coronavirus (COVID-19) has been registered among the servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on April 15.
“A border guard officer in Zakarpattia region was hospitalized to a central district hospital with a high fever a few days ago. At that time doctors diagnosed him with acute respiratory viral infection. The serviceman also immediately underwent express testing for coronavirus infection, which proved negative. After that the border guard also took a PCR test while staying in hospital. Its result confirmed that he has COVID-19,” the press service of the State Border Guard Service said.
The serviceman is in good condition, his body temperature is normal.
The state service also said that the list of persons with whom the serviceman had contacted is being formed. Measures have been taken for self-isolation and placing the staff under observation.
