The State Fiscal Service (SFS) and the National Police have developed a joint action plan as part of the experiment to combat smuggling at customs, the SFS reported on its website.

The SFS and the Interior Ministry intend to conclude an agreement on providing access to the automated system of customs clearance “Inspector-2006,” the message reads.

“In addition, the Fiscal Service has already received a list of officials of the National Police, who will be granted the right to be in the customs control zones. This list will be handed to customs by the end of the week,” the message says.

According to the approved order of interaction, policemen will have to receive written permission from the head of the customs post for a 24-hour stay in the customs control zones, and the approval of the head of the relevant state border service body to stay at the checkpoints across the state border.

At the same time, the National Police should inform the customs authorities in writing about possible cases of movement of goods in violation of the norms of legislation, it says.

The basis for inspecting or re-examining of goods, transport means is a written instruction in the framework of criminal proceedings. Carrying out the inspection or police check-ups should be recorded on photo and video, SFS says.
