You're reading: Flood victims in Ivano-Frankivsk region receive Hr 50 million in financial aid

Work continues in Ivano-Frankivsk region to overcome the consequences of floods, which on June 22-24 caused damage to residents of the region, victims of the natural disaster have already paid Hr 50 million in material assistance, the press service of the regional state administration said.

“In order to overcome the consequences of the disaster, Hr 480 million were allocated from the reserve fund of the national budget for the region. Initially, we allocated these funds to pay material assistance to victims of the disaster. In particular, today people have been paid over Hr 50 million,” Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Vitaliy Fedoriv said.

Today 1,807 service receivers in 16 settlements remain without gas supply. Further, work continues to ensure transport links, restore roads, bridges, and shoreline protection. According to preliminary estimates, some 1,895 communal property objects were damaged and destroyed in the region, more than Hr 2 billion are needed to restore them.

According to the regional state administration, the financial resource will be allocated to the restoration of social facilities, bridges and bridge crossings of communal property, water facilities and the consolidation of landslide areas, resumption of gas facilities, and roads of municipal property of local importance.
