You're reading: Foreign Ministry reports nearly 1,500 Ukrainians come back from Egypt

Nearly 1,500 Ukrainians came back from Sharm El Sheikh on March 17, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported.

“1,500 Ukrainian citizens have returned from Sharm El Sheikh. Six flights have already been destined in Boryspil, a total of 1,146 Ukrainian citizens have returned. Also two planes arrived in Lviv, one in Kharkiv,” reads the report “Coronavirus in the world – promptly from Foreign Ministry” on Twitter on March 17 morning.

Previously, over 100 Ukrainians have already returned from Georgia, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yehor Bozhok reported.

“We continue to return to Ukraine compatriots who were diagnosed COVID-19 abroad. More than 200 Ukrainians arrived from Egypt tonight and more than 100 Ukrainians – from Georgia in the morning. Thanks to the Ministry of Infrastructure and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for cooperation, and the carriers for cooperation,” he posted on Twitter on Tuesday.

It was reported that 730 citizens of Ukraine were quarantined at a hotel in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh after two tourists were diagnosed with COVID-19. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister said that among Ukrainians in a hotel in Egypt there were no patients with coronavirus.
