The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urges citizens of Ukraine to refrain from traveling to the weatherworn regions of Turkey.

“Taking into account the unpredictable further development of the emergency situation, we urge the citizens of Ukraine to refrain from traveling to the regions affected by the disaster. In case of a threat to life and health, please contact the hot lines of the Consulate of Ukraine in Antalya +90 554 169 96 60 and the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey +90 539 550 98 98, +90 312 442 15 93,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said in a report on July 30.

The Foreign Ministry recalled that on July 28, abnormally high air temperatures provoked and spread fires in the southwestern regions of Turkey with a high concentration of tourist sites, in particular, the provinces of Antalya, Adana, Mersin and Mugla, which are popular destinations for Ukrainian tourists.

“All available firefighting resources of Turkey have been involved in fighting the fires. There are casualties among the local population, some objects of tourist infrastructure in the cities of Bodrum, Marmaris, etc. have been damaged and are under threat,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
