You're reading: Forty-Five Ukrainians Released in Seventh Prisoner Exchange with Russia

As part of an exchange of prisoners of war with Russia, 45 Ukrainians are returning home, state news agency Ukrinform reports.

Deputy Prime Minister, Iryna Vereshchuk, who is responsible for the countries occupied territories, announced the swap in a Telegram post.

“Another exchange of prisoners took place. Today 45 of our people have been released from Russian captivity. Among them are 13 officers and 20 soldiers (including five wounded),” Vereshchuk said.

According to her, 12 civilians were also released.

As reported, on April 21, as part of the sixth exchange of prisoners of war with Russia, 19 people, including 10 military personnel, returned to Ukraine.
