French Ambassador to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins has congratulated the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the adoption of a bill on banks and emphasized that Ukraine is firmly on the path to reforms.
“Congratulations to the Ukrainian parliament for this milestone achievement. And thanks for your efforts [Minister of Foreign Affairs] Dmytro Kuleba, PM Denys Shmyhal and ultimately President Volodymyr Zelensky for making it happen. Ukraine is firmly on the path to reforms,” he said on Twitter on May 13.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada at a session on Wednesday, May 13, adopted the bill on banks, which is necessary for the approval of a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). A total of 270 MPs at second reading voted for respective bill No. 2571-d amending some laws of Ukraine on the improvement of certain mechanisms for regulation of banking activities.
