France says allegations that a decision on European Union visa-free travel for Ukraine is being blocked to be unfair, head of the Committee on European Affairs of the Parliament of France Danielle AUROI said.

“We do not understand the allegations voiced in address of France that it opposes visa waivers for Ukraine. It’s not fair,” she said a press conference in Kyiv on Dec. 2.

According to her, the decision on EU visa-free travel for Ukraine could be taken before the end of 2016.

“Given that there is no position against it, but rather it is the opposite, for it, the decision on the visa-free regime can be taken before the end of this year,” she said.
