Ukraine’s Minister for Veterans Affairs Iryna Friz has discussed with representatives of the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee, Inc. (UUARC) joint efforts to solve issues of developing a system of hospitals Ukrainian veterans, as well as training programs for doctors and psychologists.

According to the ministry’s press service, the meeting took place in Philadelphia and was attended by Vice-President of the Ukrainian Educational Cultural Center Zenia Brozyna, and the Program Director of Our Ukrainian Native School Olha Kostiv.

“During the meeting, we discussed the issue of cooperation at the level of the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs, which should now create a high-quality system to protect the interests of veterans and their family members. We also had the opportunity to outline the direction for the creation of new programs,” the ministry said.

The ministry said this year UUARC celebrates its 75th anniversary. It is currently actively working on programs and projects, providing active support and charitable assistance to Ukraine. In particular, under the program “Adopt a Wounded Ukrainian Warrior,” 625 Ukrainian soldiers received assistance. In recent years, medical equipment worth more than $100,000 has been purchased. Under a separate program, “ATO Assistance in the Russian-Ukrainian War,” assistance has been provided for the amount of $850,000.

Friz thanked her interlocutors for their support of Ukraine, practical assistance to the Ukrainian servicemen and equipment supplied to medical hospitals.
