Transit of natural gas through the gas transmission system (GTS) of Ukraine in January-June amounted to 24.9 billion cubic meters, which is 45% less than in the same period in 2019 (45.1 billion cubic meters).

According to Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU), 22.9 billion cubic meters were transited to the west (Slovakia some 16.9 billion cubic meters, Hungary 4.2 billion cubic meters, Poland 1.8 billion cubic meters), in the Trans-Balkan direction some 1.9 billion cubic meters (Moldova 1.5 billion cubic meters, Romania 400 million cubic meters).

Despite an almost twofold decrease in transit compared to last year, Gazprom fully pays for the transit capacities reserved for this year (178 million cubic meters per day), which it used by 78% in January-June.

“For its part, GTSOU fulfills all daily requests and will continue to ensure uninterrupted gas transportation to European countries,” the company said.
