The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate almost Hr 700 million of funds for the first priority steps to clean up c in the western regions of Ukraine.
The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said that the relevant draft order was approved at an extraordinary meeting of the government on Thursday, June 25.
Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko said that the draft order on providing assistance to the population and conducting priority, urgent emergency response measures provides for the allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the national budget in the amount of Hr 672 million.
“In particular, it is planned to allocate Hr 480 million for the needs of Ivano-Frankivsk region, which suffered the most from the floods. Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia regions will receive Hr 30 million each and Lviv region will receive Hr 10 million,” the government said.
The State Water Resources Agency of Ukraine will receive funds for restoration work in the amount of Hr 92 million, while the State Forest Resources Agency will receive Hr 30 million, as well as the agencies that provide rescue operations, namely, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine.
“This is our first decision. As we receive new calculations, we will make additional decisions on the allocation of funds to clean up aftermath of the disaster,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said.
