Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court has scheduled a preparatory meeting on April 3, 2018, for the defamation suit of businessman of Konstantin Grigorishin against Ukraine’s ex-Prime Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk. The case was opened in March 2016.

According to a court ruling dated January 22, the case will be considered according to the rules of general action proceedings.

As reported, in January 2016, then PM Yatsenyuk accused Russian citizen Grigorishin of stealing money from the budget. Ukraine’s SBU State Security Service subsequently pledged to check the allegations.

Grigorishin, a native of Zaporizhia, in 2016 received Ukrainian citizenship and in March 2016 filed suit against Yatsenyuk.

After this statement, the Security Service of Ukraine promised to verify Yatsenyuk’s statements regarding the alleged involvement of Grigorishin in the financing of anti-Ukrainian political forces. Nevertheless, in the spring of the same year, Grigorishin, a native of Zaporizhia, received Ukrainian citizenship.
