You're reading: Groysman orders investigation of causes of tragedy at Lisova mine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has instructed to investigate the situation at the Lisova mine of the Lvivvuhillia association and provide all necessary assistance to the families of the deceased miners.

Prime Minister of Ukraine instructed the leaders of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police and other concerned authorities to conduct a special investigation into the causes of the accident at the Lisova coal mine of the Lvivvuhillia association and to work out the issues of providing assistance to the families of the deceased miners, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers on said on Wednesday evening.

The deadline for submission of investigation results is 10 days.

Groysman also expressed his deepest condolences in connection with the tragedy.

On May 29, an accident at the Lisova coal mine of the Lvivvuhillia occurred at the extraction site – a rockslide which resulted in the death of two miners. The mine was visited by President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday.
