You're reading: Groysman promises assistance to Novoluhanske suffered from militants’ attacks

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that the government would make whatever is required to help victims of militants’ attacks in the village of Novoluhanske (Bakhmut district of Donetsk region).

“Terrorists shelled Novoluhanske residential areas from the Grad multiple rocket launchers and now we are forced to evacuate our citizens… The government will do everything in its power to help those who need help. All the necessary materials and means for the reconstruction of houses will be provided,” the head of government wrote on his Facebook page Dec.19.

Head of Donetsk Regional Military and Civil Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky gave information as of early morning on Tuesday: “29 private houses in Michurin, Pushkin and Serhienko streets suffered from enemy’s Grad multiple rocket launchers, as wells as five five-story buildings in the Molodizhny and Druzhba neighborhoods, four two-story buildings on Shkilna Street and Soniachny neighborhood.

In addition, a school, a kindergarten and a rural paramedic office were damaged. A boiler room was left without power, and as a result 300 consumers were left without heat. The water pipe for one street was broken. There is no electricity in 840 houses, mostly in the private sector. There is electricity in high-rise buildings, Zhebrivsky wrote on his Facebook page.

As for the victims, at the moment information about eight has been confirmed: seven adults, one in grave condition, and a six-year-old child with a psychological trauma have been sent to hospital.

A criminal case under Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (act of terrorism) has been opened.
