You're reading: Health Ministry creates medical council to reform system

The Ministry of Health has created a medical council of experts to reform the system, Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov at a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.

“Yesterday, according to the order I signed, a medical council of the leading specialists of our country was created under the Ministry of Health. It includes specialists in infectious diseases, cardiology, cardiac surgery, oncology, family medicine. Any changes in the reform, in the creation of a medical aid system can only be done by industry experts,” Stepanov said.

“The main tasks of the council will be to develop and make proposals to the Minister of Health on reforming the healthcare system; prioritizing the use of international technical assistance, the beneficiary of which is the Ministry of Health; introducing new and existing medical technologies into the practice of medical institutions; analyzing priority areas for the development of the healthcare system and research results,” the minister said.
