The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) of Ukraine has decided to choose a custody status in the form of arrest against former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in the case of taking possession of the Mezhyhirya residence.

The HACC issued the relevant ruling on Oct. 7, having granted the petition of the prosecution.

“To choose a custody status in the form of detention against Yanukovych. After his arrest and no later than 48 hours from the moment of delivery to the court… consider, with his participation, the application of a custody status in the form of detention or its change to a more lenient custody status,” the investigating judge said in the ruling.
