You're reading: Holos says mono-majority in Rada to turn on ‘mad printer’ to pass laws

Leader of the Holos political party, MP Kira Rudyk said that the current government is in a hurry to put into effect the so-called “law on oligarchs”, which became the cause of the conflict between the MPs from the mono-majority and speaker of parliament Dmytro Razumkov, with the subsequent resignation of the latter.

According to her, after the election of a new speaker, his main tasks will be to promote pro-government initiatives and restore the “printer” for the adoption of laws beneficial to the authorities.

“The parliamentary majority created a problem for itself and removed the head, who refused to rake it all up. Therefore, the first task of the new Ukrainian speaker is to resolve the issue with the so-called bill on oligarchs. The second issue, the solution of which the mono-majority expects is the adoption of tax bill No. 5600, which raises taxes for small and medium businesses,” the press service of the Holos party quotes Rudyk as saying.

The MP said that the Holos faction has repeatedly opposed the said bill, because it is “absolute arbitrariness.”

“And when we asked the Minister of Finance if he expects money to the budget from the law on oligarchs, he said no. But the tax bill provides for Hr 20-30 billion, which will be collected from small and medium-sized businesses. Not from oligarchs, not from rent, not from additional payments. This is what will fall on the shoulders of business people who work every day,” the lawmaker said.

She said also that the authorities will soon turn on the “mad printer” of such bills again, which in fact do not solve anything, but only impose additional taxes on people.
