Honcharenko: PACE rejects Ukrainian candidate list for position of ECHR judge

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has finally rejected the Ukrainian list of candidates for the position of a judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), MP of the European Solidarity faction Oleksiy Honcharenko said.

“The main reason is the nomination of a deputy from the Servant of the People and a PACE member Oleksandr Merezhko among the candidates,” he said in his Telegram channel.

According to Honcharenko, now the Ukrainian authorities need to hold a new competition.
