You're reading: Hospitals in Odesa region provided with oxygen for patients with coronavirus

Odesa region and Odesa city, in particular, are provided with medical oxygen, which means that the needs of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in oxygen therapy are fully met, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine said.

“The Odesa region is now in the red level of epidemic danger, now 33,127 people are sick here. However, the system of institutions working with COVID patients is able to meet the needs of those who have been prescribed oxygen therapy with appropriate treatment,” the press service quotes First Deputy Minister of Health Oleksandr Komaryda.

He also thanked all the companies that supply oxygen to Odesa hospital “for the fact that they quickly get involved and respond to all requests from doctors.”

It is noted that during the day on Oct. 26 in healthcare institutions providing medical care to patients with COVID-19 in Odesa region, a total of 18.9 tonnes of liquid and 368 cylinders of gaseous oxygen were consumed. During Oct. 25-27, the region received 35 tonnes of oxygen. Also there are enterprises in Odesa region that produce additional 18 tonnes of oxygen per day: “Cryoprom” LLC produces 12 tonnes of oxygen per day, and JSC Odesa Port-Side Plant, which produces six tonnes of oxygen per day.

Also, by the end of the week, it is planned to supply at least 57 tonnes of oxygen over the next two days.
