You're reading: Hr 600 million provided for soldiers’ housing construction

In 2021, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has provided Hr 600 million for the construction of housing for service members, of which Hr 332.6 million has been committed and Hr 106.444 million has been funded, Defense Minister Andriy Taran has said.

“Some 250 apartments worth Hr 210 million have already been received in 2021, under agreements concluded last year on the terms of the shareholding of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine,” Taran said during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.

The Defense Minister spoke about the main objects for the financing of which the funds are directed. In particular, it is planned to commission two residential buildings worth almost Hr 20 million.

According to Taran, the reconstruction of the army barracks building in Odesa is being carried out worth Hr 16.7 million, the construction of six hostels for the amount of Hr 156 million is being finished.

In addition, the construction of gas supply to three five-storey buildings for 120 apartments in the village of Kluhyno-Bashkyrivka near Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region for Hr 2 million is being carried out and a 44-apartment residential building has been transferred to the balance of the apartment maintenance department in Volodymyr-Volynsky.

The ministry said the payment of monetary compensation to soldiers and members of their families for receiving housing in the amount of Hr 201 million was also assigned.
