35 political prisoners and prisoners of war returned to Ukraine. In return, Ukraine gave away those convicted of terrorism, overthrowing the constitutional order, participation in illegal armed groups, or those under investigation, to Russia. Last year, some of these people wrote letters to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him to be exchanged for the Ukrainian political prisoners.
