The implementation of the law on the peculiarities of the state policy on ensuring Ukraine’s state sovereignty over temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions will help the authorities regain control over occupied areas of Donbas and return Crimea, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has reported.

“We are convinced that with the implementation of this law our state will successfully resolve not only the issue of regaining control over occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, but also the issue of returning Crimea,” an officer of the Directorate of Legal Support at the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Bobrov, said at a briefing in Kyiv on March 6.

He also added: “Despite statements by some politicians that the law has yet to be revised, that it does not establish or regulate any legal relations, we are convinced that its adoption by parliament is a timely and necessary step.”
