You're reading: Infant kidnapped in Kotsiubynske found alive

Kyiv regional police have said they found the infant abducted on Oct. 23 morning in the village of Kotsiubynske, Kyiv region, after triggering an interception plan.

“The infant abducted in Kotsiubynske has been found. The child is alive and unhurt. Doctors will look at him,” the regional police said on Facebook.

Law-enforcers are continuing their investigation into the reasons for the abduction. A criminal case under Part 2 of Article 146 (illegal deprivation of liberty, kidnapping) of Ukraine’s Criminal Code has been opened.

As reported, on the morning of Oct. 23 in Kotsiubynske an unknown woman abducted a three-month-old baby from her mother and disappeared in an unknown direction by car.

Information appeared later about the detention of the kidnapper in the town of Sofiyivska Borschahivka, Kyiv region.
