You're reading: Israeli president to arrive in Ukraine

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin arrives with a state visit in Ukraine on Sept. 26, and will stay in the country until Sept. 30, according to the official website of the Ukrainian president.

According to the website, an official welcoming ceremony for Rivlin will be held in the square in front of the Ukrainian presidential administration at 15:00 on Sept. 27.

At 16:30, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko and Rivlin will talk to journalists.

As reported, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy, Kyiv will host a series of commemorative events, including screenings of documentaries about the Holocaust. The reconstruction of Babyn Yar is underway, where a museum of commemorating the victims of the tragedy will open.

Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yeliseyev said earlier that Israeli President Rivlin, German President Joachim Gauck, President of the European Council Donald Tusk, and Hungarian President Janos Ader to the events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy, which will take place in Kyiv on Sept. 29.
