You're reading: Kernes wins mayoral elections in Kharkiv for third time

Incumbent Mayor Hennadiy Kernes won the elections of Kharkiv mayor for the third time.

According to Suspilne-Kharkiv with reference to information from Kharkiv City Territorial Election Commission, which processed 100% of the protocols, some 60.34% of those who took part in the elections voted for Kernes (195,044 people). In the second place, by a significant margin, is the candidate from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, MP Oleksandr Feldman (14.32% or 46,278 votes), in the third-place is Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, a nominee from the Servant of the People party, Oleksiy Kucher (7.24% or 23,401 votes).

In total, 14 candidates ran for the post of mayor of Kharkiv. The lowest result was with a representative of the Udar party, deputy of Kharkiv City Council Heorhiy Lahovsky (0.11% or 349 votes).

Some 323,218 people took part in the voting in the elections of the mayor of Kharkiv. Some 6,180 ballots were declared as invalid.

According to Suspilne-Kharkiv, the official announcement of the voting results is scheduled for November 4.
