Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has commented on the decision of Ukraine’s parliament not to dismiss him using the words of a popular song by the American rock band Eagles.

“Parliament again failed to vote in support of my resignation. I listen to music. It’s funny how the song by the Eagles, titled Hotel California, echoes our surrealism… ‘You can never leave…'” Klimkin said on Facebook on July 11, citing a line from the song.

Klimkin said he is currently on vacation. Earlier on July 11, only 160 members of parliament voted in favor of a draft resolution to dismiss him as foreign minister. A simple majority of deputies, or 226 votes, is required.
