You're reading: Klimkin to take part in special GUAM meeting in Tbilisi on Oct 7-8

On October 7-8, 2017 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin will pay a visit to Tbilisi to participate in the special meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) on the occasion of the 20-th anniversary of the establishment of the GUAM.

The GUAM CMFA will hold its regular and special, extended meeting with the participation of high level representatives of the GUAM partner-countries – the United States of America and Japan, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said on Facebook.

Following the meeting a Joint Communiqué and Protocol of CMFA meeting will be adopted, as well as a joint press conference with the participation of the Foreign Ministers and the GUAM Secretary-General is scheduled.

There is scheduled a bilateral meeting between Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze, during which it will be discussed the urgent issues of developing the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Georgia launched on 18 July 2017 in the course of the state visit of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to Georgia.

The meetings of the GUAM Foreign Ministers with Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili and President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili are also planned.

The special meeting of the GUAM CMFA is held within the framework of Georgia presidency in the Organization that will continue until the end of the year.

The events are held in the period of celebrating the Day of Tbilisi City – “Tbilisoba.”
