Kyiv beaches have already been opened for swimming, after the conclusions made by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said.

“City beaches opened for swimming. This year, 12 beaches and 20 recreation areas without swimming got passport certificates. Which ones – one can find on the website of the Pleso municipal enterprise. The state consumer service conducted laboratory tests of water. They checked the quality of drinking water in fountains on the beaches,” Klitschko said during an online press conference.

The mayor also recalled that over the past few years, the city has updated six city beaches.

Among other things, Klitschko noted that this year the number of Kyiv beaches that received the international Blue Flag award has increased. This means that they meet more than 30 criteria of quality and safety.
