Kyiv has found and allocated almost Hr 900 million for extra payments to medical workers, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said.
“The city is looking for any opportunities to help and support doctors. As far as you know, from April 1 all medical institutions in the country receive money – including for paying wages to employees – from the state, and not from city budgets. This, I recall, is a medical reform. Kyiv found and allocated almost Hr 900 million from the city budget for additional payments to doctors,” Klitschko said during an online press conference.
According to him, in April the medical workers of municipal non-profit enterprises of the capital, providing secondary (i.e. specialized) and tertiary (highly specialized) assistance, will receive additional payments – in proportion to the time worked at full employment.
For doctors, the amount of payment is Hr 4,000, for nurses Hr 3,000, for junior medical staff some Hr 1,000.
Klitschko also noted that today there are 148 coronavirus infected doctors in the capital – this is 10% of all patients with COVID-19.
