You're reading: Klympush-Tsintsadze hopes to conclude talks on cooperation with Israel within several months

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze has expressed hope for the completion of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel in the coming months, the website of the government said on Feb.28.

“Ukraine and Israel have a great potential for further expansion of trade. The signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel can significantly contribute to deepening trade relations between the countries,” Klympush-Tsintsadze said.

The sides also discussed the state of trade and economic cooperation between the countries, which is developing quite successfully. “In 2017, the volume of trade in goods and services between Ukraine and Israel was $973.400 million and increased compared to 2016 by 13 percent, or $112.100 million (in 2016 – $861.3 million),” the government said.

As noted, Klympush-Tsintsadze highly appreciated the level of interparliamentary cooperation of countries, which has grown significantly in recent years. She informed that Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy intends to make an official visit to Israel in May this year.

In addition, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also expected to visit Ukraine this year. He gave preliminary consent for the implementation of his official visit.
