Criminal proceedings have been initiated over the activities of the management of Naftogaz Ukrainy, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev has told Hromadske Radio.

“The case concerns the activities of the company’s management. But it is difficult to investigate the activities of the management without the name of Kobolyev. It is built on accusations of high treason. I don’t know when it was opened. I’ve received papers on this matter today,” Kobolyev said.

He noted that the company perceives this as “a very insistent invitation to a public discussion.”

“We are ready to accept this invitation. We have nothing to hide. We are absolutely open on government audit regarding the debt reserve and on all other issues,” he added.

At the same time, Kobolyev said that he lost count of criminal cases against Naftogaz.

Earlier, the Ekonomichna Pravda online edition reported that the State Audit Service sent the materials of the audit of Naftogaz Ukrainy to the main directorate of counterintelligence of the SBU.

The audit act, which was sent to the SBU, refers to “large-scale violations, ineffective management decisions and risky operations that have led or may lead to losses of financial and material resources for Hr 176.190 billion, including financial violations that led to losses of Hr 75.486 billion.
