In 2019, the Kyiv authorities will begin construction of a general hospital with an in-patient facility in Troyeshchyna and an emergency hospital on the right bank of the Dnipro river, mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko has said.
“We are planning to start building a new hospital in Troyeshchyna. This is a large area with a population larger than in some regional centers—over 400,000 residents. And there is not enough room in the hospital in Troyeshchyna, thus people have to travel to other areas of the city,” Klitschko said in a program broadcast by the Kyiv TV channel, the mayoral press service said.
Also in 2019, construction of an emergency hospital on the right bank of the Dnipro river in Kyiv will begin.
“We are also planning to start building an emergency hospital on the right bank because the [current] emergency center is located on the left bank of the city today. Sometimes the time to save a person’s life counts by a minute. Patients are being taken across the city to the emergency hospital on the left bank. The problem of the emergency hospital in the right-bank part of the capital has long since been overdue,” the mayor of Kyiv said.
