The Ukrainian side in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) calls for doing everything possible to ensure that the ceasefire in Donbas to be fully observed from Sept. 1, Darka Olifer, press secretary of Ukraine’s second president and representative to the Trilateral Contact Group Leonid Kuchma said following the results of the TCG video conference with the invitation of the separatist representatives, held on August 31.
“The Ukrainian side has been consistently fulfilling its obligations under the agreement on the ceasefire regime since August 25, 2017,” Olifer wrote on her Facebook page on August 31. At the same time, according to her, the ceasefire is systematically violated by the Russia-backed separatists.
The spokeswoman of Kuchma also said that the TCG urged the separatists to ensure full and unhindered access of the OSCE SMM throughout the Donbas region – from the contact line to the Ukrainian-Russian border.
“The Ukrainian side called for everything to be done to ensure that the cease-fire regime to be fully complied with tomorrow, on Sept. 1”, she said and added, that violations of the ceasefire regime on the part of the separatists should be investigated by the OSCE SMM, and the perpetrators – identified and punished, with concrete examples and making such cases public.
