Kyiv expects that the situation with Russia’s recognition of separatists documents and the introduction by Donetsk and Luhansk of external management of Donbas enterprises with Ukrainian jurisdiction can be reversed.
“We expressed hope that the processes involving documents and nationalization will not become irreversible,” Darka Olifer, a spokesperson for Leonid Kuchma, Ukraine’s envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group, said on Facebook following the group’s meeting in Minsk on March 1.
Ukraine’s envoy to the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group and Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Speaker Iryna Gerashchenko said earlier that the introduction by Donetsk and Luhansk of external management of Donbas enterprises with Ukrainian jurisdiction is nothing but nationalization.
In that regard, Olifer recalled that any steps in nationalization of enterprises contradict Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 of the European Convention on Human Rights of 1950.
