You're reading: Kyiv insists on implementation of whole array of Minsk arrangements

During the meeting of the trilateral contact group on Donbas settlement in Minsk on Oct. 26, the Ukrainian side said Kyiv considers the whole complex of the Minsk agreements as a package of documents and demands its implementation by all the signatories.

“The protocol dated September 5 and the memorandum dated September 19, 2014, as well as a set of measures of February 12, 2015 are equally important… We demand all the signatories fulfill their obligations. In particular, in accordance with the demarcation line of September 19, 2014, Debaltseve should be under Ukraine’s control, but it was seized by members of separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk republics (the so-called ORDLO) despite the Minsk agreements,” spokesperson for Ukraine’s representative in the trilateral contact group, second president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer, wrote on her Facebook page on Oct. 26 evening.

In addition, the Ukrainian side at the meeting of the group reiterated that the implementation of security provisions of the agreement is an essential condition for the progress in resolving the rest of the matters.

“The security issues are a baseline for the whole of Minsk process. The ceasefire and lasting peace are an essential condition for the progress in addressing the humanitarian, political and economic issues,” Kuchma’s press secretary wrote.
