You're reading: Kyiv schools are recommended to start holidays on October 21

The Department of Education and Science of Kyiv City State Administration, taking into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, has recommended that schools in the capital start their autumn holidays on Oct. 21 to prevent the spread of coronavirus and create a safe environment during local elections.

“According to the department, schoolchildren will return to their desks in a week – Oct. 28,” the press service of Kyiv City State Administration said.

It is reported that at the moment the situation with the incidence of coronavirus (COVID-19) in educational institutions is controlled, but the dynamics are negative. Schools and kindergartens continue to operate according to certain regulations.

To strengthen anti-epidemic security, the city increased funding for the purchase of the necessary funds for schools from Hr 30 million to Hr 40 million. Disinfectants and detergents for sanitary and hygienic treatment of premises and daily cleaning during the educational process, personal protective equipment, non-contact thermometers, paper towels and the like have been purchased for almost Hr 32 million.
