The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has expressed its protest over the trip by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Crimea on October 26, 2016.

“The Russian Foreign Ministry has been sent a relevant note of protest,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement released by its press office on Oct. 26.

“We repeatedly pointed out the unacceptability of Russian officials’ presence, without Kyiv’s prior agreement, on the sovereign territory of Ukraine” that includes Crimea and Sevastopol, the Ukrainian ministry said.

Putin flew in Crimea to attend a Russian People’s Front forum in Yalta.
