The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has completed an investigation into Ukrainian businessman Serhiy Kurchenko, who is suspected of committing a number of crimes as part of the fugitive ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, 98 persons, including 12 officials of ministries and departments, have been notified of suspicion, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko said.

“The Department of International Legal Cooperation of the Prosecutor General’s Office has completed an investigation on suspicion of Kurchenko S.V., who is suspected of involvement in the criminal organization of Yanukovych V.F. and the commission of especially serious crimes against the state of Ukraine,” Lutsenko wrote on Facebook on March 28.

Kurchenko is suspected of committing crimes under Part 1 of Article 255; Part 4 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 191; Part 2 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 191; Part 4 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 366; Part 4 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 358; Part 4 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 209; Part 4 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 212; Part 4 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, PGO’s spokesperson Andriy Lysenko said on Facebook.

According to Lutsenko, in the course of the investigation into the circumstances of the above crimes, other persons were identified.

“To date, 98 persons have been notified of suspicious, including officials (12 of them are senior officials of ministries and departments, as well as the National Bank of Ukraine, six heads of regional state administrations, 14 persons of the management team of state-owned companies),” said the prosecutor general.
